He mihi mahana ki a koutou katoa
Bonjour à toutes nos familles

The end of the futsal season

Monday is the last game of the Futsal season!  It’s been epic with nine teams and over 70 children playing from our relatively small school. We’ve had great coaches/managers this season and a special shout out goes to legend Damien Fordyce for coaching and managing three teams without ever looking stressed or breaking a sweat!  We’ve even had some Year 6 football heroes run training sessions at school for our Year 1 and 2 teams.

Futsal will run again in Term 1 and Term 4 next year and Term 1’s games will be on Friday. Sign up for this will be next year.

The end of an era

It is the end of an era for a couple of our Year 8 basketball stars, Thomas and Harvey. They are playing their last game with Ridgway on Wednesday in a 3 x 3 competition.  Basketball coach extraordinaires John and Christine Nixon have been working tirelessly with our (mostly) Year 7 & 8s in this special competition this term and across the year and had this to say:

Thomas and Harvey have spearheaded the team this year and it has been fantastic having them as leaders. We have all really enjoyed Thomas’s long shots and layups and Harvey is mastering the fast layup - both of you have done a great job with running the floor and on the boards. We all wish you the very best and you will be missed. 🏀

Term 1 Sports 2024 - looking ahead

In Term 1 we have futsal, netball for Year 1 - 4 and (fingers crossed) rippa rugby. We will be looking for coaches, managers and, of course, players! We will put a form out at the start of next year so you can sign up and let us know if you’re able to volunteer as a coach or manager and if your child is keen to play.

Our school focus in Term 1 is athletics and we have our school Athletics Day on 21 March.
