COMMUNITY NEWS AND EVENTS
Karori Amateur Athletics Club, Ben Burn Park, Wednesdays 6pm. Season starts 25th October & runs for 2 terms.
Do you know a child who loves to run, jump, throw? Or do you know a child who would benefit from having an evening off screens each week? Would you like your family to spend more active time together?
The Karori Athletics Club provides a fun environment with a mixture of games for ages 6 & under and track & field athletics for children from 7-15 years old. Keen athletes can represent Karori & compete in Inter-club events & other competitions during the season.
Parents measure & time, supervise & guide, encourage & cheer the kids on. It’s a lot of fun & there’s even a sausage sizzle!
The Club meets weekly at Ben Burn Park in Karori on Wednesday nights (6.00pm-7.30pm) over the summer from October to March.

Calling all potential waterpolo players
Are you interested in playing waterpolo…or at least giving it a go.
Maranui Waterpolo Club is Wellingtons oldest water polo club, family friendly and really supportive.
We train at Wellington Regional Aquatic Centre (WRAC) in Kilbirnie, with both local competition and the opportunity for away competitions throughout the year.
We have an U12 mixed squad who train on a Sunday from 4.00-5.00pm, and games on aThursday.
We also have U14 and U16 and senior squads.
You don’t have to have played waterpolo before, or even played flippa ball, and you don’t have to be a competitive swimmer. If you are in interested in giving it a go, you just need to come along to training on a Sunday (we break for the hols but will be back Sunday 23rd July) and try it out for a few weeks.

Join the challenge to have fun….at Pippins, Brownies or Guides
Being a member of GirlGuiding NZ is a very popular choice for 5 -19 year old girls and it is great to be able to offer the opportunity to more girls to join our units in Brooklyn on a Monday night in school terms.
Guiding is about learning, developing self-confidence, making new friends and, of course, having lots of fun.
