Grounds and buildings
Ridgway is a well-resourced school with a well-stocked library and networked computers in every classroom as well as a shared pod of laptops.
Our children have a variety of playing areas including a sandpit, netball court, a large playing field and an adventure playground, as well as various other smaller spaces.
In 2009 we completed development of a multipurpose classroom - the ‘Big Space’ - next to Room 8 which is used for shared activities, assemblies, displays and meetings.
The school buildings are divided into three areas:
- the school administration block, library and Rooms 1-5 for our junior students
- the ‘Big Space’ and Rooms 6 - 8 for our middle school students, and
- Rooms 9 & 10 for our senior students.
Next to Room 10 is our school garden where our sustainability group has been learning about planting and maintaining – and harvesting!
Below the school is a playing field maintained by Wellington City Council where many of the school’s sporting activities (and weekend sporting fixtures) are held.
