Do you teach tamariki how to be responsible cyber citizens?

RESPONSIBILITY is one of our core school values. We devote lots of attention to teaching tamariki how to be responsible citizens in all aspects of life, including while they are online. This is attended to both in formal lessons, as well as being frequently referred to during other times, those "teachable moments" when it is relevant to do so.

Obviously it can never be the solve responsibility of the school to teach tamariki how to be responsible citizens and parents have a key role to play in this aspect of their tamariki lives. Parents should be fully involved in their tamariki digital lives and exercise at least the same level of supervision over tamariki online activities that they do over off line activities.
