Friday 10 February

He mihi mahana ki a koutou katoa
Bonjour à toutes nos familles

Oliver’s funeral

This is on Wednesday 15 February at 12pm.  If your child wants to go, a parent or caregiver needs to attend with them. We ask that parents only take their own child/ren, as it is likely to be distressing and children will need a designated caregiver to support them.  A large number of our staff are attending and we will have reduced staff on-site after 11.30.  This has impacted us deeply at school, as many of us have been involved with Oliver since he started here as a 5 year old.  If you are able to, it would be helpful if you could keep your child/ren home on Wednesday or collect them at morning tea (11am).  We understand this is a big ask and isn’t possible for everyone. The teachers remaining at school will look after all the children who are here.

Extension te reo lessons

We are running extension te reo lessons again at school.  This is open to Year 4 - 8s.  Children who were doing it last year will automatically carry on this year. If you would like your child to be involved please speak to them about it and then send an email to sarah@ridgway.school.nz.  These lessons are on top of the regular te reo instruction they get in class.

Shout out for Road Patrol heroes!

If anyone is able to supervise road patrol in the mornings (8.30 - 8.50) or afternoons (3 - 3.10) we would really appreciate it. Send sarah@ridgway.school.nz an email if you’re ready to showcase your awesomeness and let her know what days would suit!

Goal Setting Conferences - week starting 27 February

We will send out the booking form for these next week.  They are 15 minutes long and will be held at school.  However, you will be able to do them online if that works better for you.

Reminder: Our Kids Online - parent evenings (15 and 22 February)

We have two of these scheduled.  The session will run for approximately 90 minutes and we can do the whole thing in one go. This means that the second session will just be a repeat of the first. We will have childcare available on site and if you require this can you please email sarah@ridgway.school.nz so we know how many children to expect.

We are unable to offer this online, however if you cannot attend either of the evening sessions, you have the option to enrol in 'The Big Reconnect', an online safety course for parents/caregivers which also contains the Cyber Safety Presentation, at a cost of $49.  To do so, please go to the 'For Parents' tab on the Our Kids Online website and enter the code RECONNECT50 when you enrol in the course.
