Online Assemblies Next Week

As we are living our lives in Level 2, our final assemblies for the term will be live via googlemeet next week.  You will be able to join the meet and watch from the comfort of your own office/home/yacht. This is an experimental way of conducting our assemblies and we have our fingers crossed it will work.  You can ‘pin’ the person hosting the assembly (which will be one of the teachers) then you won’t see all the other people who are watching, which might be a bit of a strange assembly! We hope it will give you a window into the final assembly for the term.

The links for these googlemeets are as follows:

Yummy stickers

If you have any of these please bring them into school next week. (These are the stickers on apples if you’re not sure what this means https://www.yummyfruit.co.nz/schools)

Wearing masks at school

Thanks to all our parents who are wearing masks when picking and dropping off.  If you don’t want to wear a mask, please let us know and we will arrange for your children to meet you at the gate.

Drop offs and pickups

Our friendly hi-vis vest attired chief parking warden, Mr Martin Anscombe, says thank you to all the parents who are using the drop off zones outside the school correctly in the mornings. If you do notice some people doing dodgy manoeuvres, please let Kathryn know. We don’t want our parents to have to take on the roll of police officer but we do want to follow up with people who are putting others in danger by not following the road rules.

Community Notices

Our names are Niamh Speir and Isabelle Cate, we attend Queen Margaret College. We feel that there is a lack of support for young women to participate in sports in a safe environment. For this reason, we are running tennis lessons for young women aged 6-12, these lessons will be run at Vogelmorn tennis club, Vennell St in Brooklyn on Saturday the 2nd of October, and Saturday the 16th of October.  We have two time slots for each weekend, 12pm to 1pm and 1pm to 2pm. We have three experienced female coaches to teach the girls. All the funds we get from the sessions will go towards the Women Sport Foundation founded by Billy Jean King. If you are interested, please contact us for additional information.
