Newsletter Thursday 30 April

He mihi mahana ki a koutou katoa - warm greetings to all.

Thank You!

First of all, a massive thank you to everyone for keeping their children at home while we are at Level 3. We know it is a real challenge to manage everything and have children at home. It's not easy, but it is really important and it also means the teachers can focus on distance learning for all of their students. Well done to us all!! We have a grand total of zero children at school. I think we all deserve a medal (and a new pair of track pants).

Library Opening Times and Book Returns - Tuesday 5 May

We have had so many families come in to collect books this week. Due to demand, Kathryn is opening up the library again next Tuesday between 9am and 4pm to return books and collect new ones.

The Event Code for this is 8qxvn and the booking form is found here Please remember that you need to enter from the external door (by the playground).

This is a good time to return any books to school that you may have had for a few months. There will be a box at the main door for these on Tuesday as well, so go for a walk and pop these into the box while you
are out. There is no need to book a time for returns.

Sharing Your Art!

We would love to create an online art exhibition where we can share the work the children have made from their art packs (or that they have made on their own). The instructions for this are here and these are the Exhibition Slides for contribution.

The Bike Track and Skills Track

It is wonderful that so many families are able to make the most of these tracks during lockdown. However it seems some families are taking shovels to modify both the skills track and the bank above it. As this is a public space it is not appropriate to do this. Also, there is further work to take place that may be compromised if this continues to happen. There are mountain biking clubs that children can join where they are allowed to modify the tracks and here are the links for these Wellington Mountain Bike Club and Makara Peak Supporters.

Yummy Stickers

If you have any Yummy Stickers from apples we would love it if you can collect them on any piece of paper and then bring them into school when we reopen. We always need more sports gear and this is a great and free way to get it!

School at Level 2

I'm sure many of you will be wondering what school will look like at Level 2. Unfortunately at this stage we have no information about this. As soon as the Ministry of Education provides us with this information we will share it with you.

Ngā mihi
